2010 Missouri-born Samuel Clemens was known around the world for his legendary writings, chief among them Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. These two books were vivid and amusing snapshots of life on the banks of the Mississippi River, where Clemens – known as Mark Twain – was born, lived as a boy and later worked as a typesetter, writer and steamboat captain.
